Social Distance Mask
This invention utilizes proximity sensors to audibly indicate the distance between the wearer and others. Similar to a theremin, the pitch of a sound indicator changes as the subject moves closer to the wearer, with the distance set at 6 feet. Additionally, a small motor is activated when a set distance from the face is breached, squirting water as a warning mechanism.
The mask is fully functional, equipped with wearable filters and an integrated microphone and speaker for seamless communication. A voice-changing microphone is installed within the mouthpiece, and pitch changes can be controlled via switches located in the front of the mask.
As a secondary warning system, a flash has been added to the proximity sensor unit for subjects who get too close to the wearer. This innovative invention was designed during the COVID-19 pandemic to promote social distancing and increase public safety awareness.
