Family Council

A values-based home stewardship system — physical printable binder, companion book, and digital app architecture. Life runs in cycles structured as concentric rings of care.

The Vision

Family Council is a comprehensive home stewardship system designed to close the gap between deeply held values and the ability to act on them consistently. It's built for people -- particularly neurodivergent individuals navigating ADHD and autism -- who struggle with the cognitive load of modern life while trying to live intentionally. The system replaces 10+ separate apps (Todoist, MyFitnessPal, Notion, Cozi, Insight Timer, and others) with a single integrated framework aligned with natural rhythms.

Three Deliverables

The project produces three interconnected deliverables. A physical printable binder available in two "skins" -- a spiritual language version (Home Stewardship Manual) that speaks to sacred practice and lunar rhythms, and a secular version (Tour Manager's Guide to Life) that uses a music industry/touring metaphor. A companion book with sample chapters explaining the philosophy. And a digital app architecture that defines the complete technical specification for a mobile/web application.

The Concentric Circles Model

The core architecture is structured as four concentric rings of care that you process from inside out. Spirit (The Sanctuary): daily grounding practice before engaging with external demands. Self (The Vessel): tending the three bodies -- mental, emotional, physical -- because you can't maintain outer rings if the inner rings are broken. Home (The Hearth): acts of care for the home-as-vessel, reframed from "chores" to intentional stewardship. Community (The Circle): intentional relationship tending and community weaving.

The Design Philosophy

The system's deepest insight is that life runs in cycles -- daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, annual -- not in straight lines. Traditional productivity tools are built for linear, output-driven, neurotypical users. They add cognitive load rather than alleviating it. Family Council starts at the macro energetic level and distills down to micro daily tasks. The user begins each day in The Sanctuary and spirals outward through self-care, home-care, and community-care.

The App Architecture

The digital app specification is a comprehensive technical document covering module architecture, data models, integration points, and design principles. Key modules include guided meditation with audio playback, three-body health check-ins (mental, emotional, physical), meal planning integrated with nutrition tracking, home inventory management, cyclical task scheduling aligned with natural patterns, and community coordination tools.

The Target Users

Neurodivergent individuals (ADHD/autism), women navigating midlife and perimenopause, spiritually-oriented people, and anyone struggling under the cognitive weight of maintaining a household while trying to live according to their values. The system acknowledges that the problem isn't laziness or lack of willpower -- it's that existing systems aren't designed to support the values people wish to live by.

Tech Stack

Architecture designed for Vue.js frontend, Node.js backend, SQLite local database. The app specification is technology-agnostic by design, prioritizing the conceptual framework over implementation details.
